Benedick & the Dons making their first entrance in MUCH ADO for MaineStage Shakespeare.
Meet Manfred. He was a member of the watch in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING this summer. I was not 100% sure how I felt about this choice until the first rehearsal when Dogberry turned to him and said “BEAR you the lantern”. Nobody saw it coming. Collectively everyone froze, eyes widened. Manfred had his place among the watch.
Kelly Pekar — The actress most likely to be thrown to the ground in a production directed by James Alexander Bond. Here she is with Joseph Bromfield in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING for MaineStage Shakespeare.
Rick Blunt (formerly Brutus in my JULIUS CAESAR) and Fernando Lamberty (Formerly my Othello) as Iago & Othello in OTHELLO at the AMERICAN SHAKESPEARE CENTER.
Having been a student, a teacher, a performer, and a fan of Improv, I have been saying this for years. This is a good read.
MaineStage Shakespeare. A company dear to my heart where I have directed Romeo & Juliet, Othello, Hamlet, and Much Ado About nothing, moments of which you can see in this little YourMagazine clip.
Today, for the final day of their season, MaineStage Shakespeare will do their MARATHON! All 3 shows in one incredible day. 2pm: Complete Works (not mine), 4pm: Hamlet (mine), and 8pm: Much Ado About Nothing (mine). Have a great end to a great summer, guys. Let the festivities begin! (Hydrate and make sure you have time to pee.)
At the First Annual Broccoli Awards, Music Director Bobby Tomasulo, Choreographer Elisa Van Duyne, and Director James Alexander Bond won Best Creative Team for their production of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, voted on by the 2013 company of Ocean Professional Theatre Company. Cool.
“Everything today is thoroughly modern. Check your personality.” Congrats to OPTC on the wonderful opening of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.
